The sponsor will present the candidate with a Spirit Band with one of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit engraved on it at the Service of Light. The candidate will also present the sponsor with a specially designed bookmark to thank them for making their commitment. (See “Bookmarks Page” click here)
The Gifts of the Spirit are as follows:
Courage – to stand up and be strong
Knowledge – to know right from wrong
Wisdom – help us to love people more than things
Understanding – to follow God’s way
Reverence – help us to love God as Jesus did
Right Judgement – help us decide how to act in difficult circumstances
Wonder and Awe in God’s Presence – to be always awed by the mighty wonders of our God
