The Irish Bishops’ Drugs Initiative is a pastoral response to the growing problems of drug and alcohol issues in our parishes and communities. We worked with volunteers from Newry Parish to develop the ‘Leave Your Mark’ programme. The programme is for, and was developed with, young people in response to a call from Pope Francis during World Youth Day 2016.

In July 2018, as part of Newry Parish’s Summer Scheme, a range of activities were developed for the ‘Leave Your Mark’ project. Activities included creativity, prayer and fun, faith and friendship. Please see the video above for quick review of the initiative.

Young people from Scoil Bhríde Mercy Secondary School, Tuam, Co.Galway composed a prayer specially for Leave Your Mark.
